Monday Mindset

I love Mondays!

For me, it is a time to reflect on possibilities. I also use Monday's to plan ahead. This can range from what exercise I want to do, what I want to get off of my to do list, what I want to focus my thoughts on, how I want to feel, and who I want to connect with. Really I see it as an opportunity to decide on what version of me I want to cultivate over the next seven days.

Often, I look to great quotes and other people to keep it interesting. This week I am using a Monday Morning Motivation sent to me by William D. Esteb ( I use his stuff a lot). I have paraphrased the bulk of the quote below.

Most of us give more planning time and preparation to our summer vacation or weekend getaway than we do to our lives. This would be a great week to review where you are and where you want to be in a couple of key areas:

  • update or create your will

  • evaluate your life insurance and any other relevant insurance policies

  • review or create your plan in case of identity theft

  • schedule a complete physical exam

  • create a success plan for your life

There is peace of mind that comes from having your affairs in order. This sense of preparedness is empowering and brings confidence. It's about removing distractions and doubts while reducing the burden on others.

It's not sexy. It won't directly produce a happy life. And it's easy to put off until it's too late. Turns out, addressing these issues before they become emergencies make vacations more relaxing and restorative. Success favours the prepared mind.
