I have a bit of an obsession with keeping my babies warm. I have given up on the teenager that walks out the door wearing running shoes and a hoodie but the little ones get swathed in woollies. I am a strong believer in warmth as a means of providing comfort and calm to a baby. For newborns this means wearing a hat at all times. For very sensitive babies being warmly wrapped and swaddled can be an excellent strategy for calming them and providing security. Where to find these woolly wraps and cosy bundlers? Check out Hestia in Aurora. This is a store owned by Karen Weyler, a Waldorf teacher and expert in Early Childhood. Karen sells all manner of woolen long johns, hats, wraps and warm, beautiful clothing. The wool is blended with cashmere which makes it soft and comfortable. When I visited the store a few weeks ago the long johns were on sale for 25% off - good time to stock up because winter WILL keep coming back!!
The store is located on Yonge street in Aurora, East side of Yonge with plenty of parking in the rear. http://www.hestiaglobal.com/
